As both a producer, and DJ, KidGusto's approach to music is simple; he searches out unheard and forgotten sounds and then makes them his own. Originally from DC, he has spent the last eight years working within LA's rich and varied music community. In addition to his one-off events DJ'ing in and out of the city, he has also released his next set of exclusive originals titled, 'Woza Beat EP' on TrueGrooves, his DIY boutique label.

About Afro Funke'

The weekly club, Afro Funke', which celebrated its ten year weekly run in December 2013 with an EPIC "moving on" event that featured over 40 top DJs in Los Angeles who came out to support one of the most ground breaking night clubs of all time. Afro Funke' is now a periodic event with small & large scale happenings across Los Angeles! Afro Funke' was the brainchild of Afro Roots star, Rocky Dawuni, who realized LA's need for a night dedicated to African music, culture and art and it's far reaching legacy around the world. Dawuni, who is based in LA and his native Ghana, together with talent booker and photographer Cary Sullivan created Afro Funke', bringing on board resident DJ and partner DJ Jeremy Sole (KCRW.) DJ Glenn Red was invited to be the second resident DJ and is an integral part of the Afro Funke' Sound.
