Returning for the 6th summer, Sunday Sessions celebrates Los Angeles’ contribution to the American-originated, globally embraced art form of House music. Honoring L.A.’s vibrant music scene, creativity and boundary-pushing music-making, Grand Park brings the best House music artists to L.A.’s central gathering place to relive the memories, celebrate the art-makers and connect members of the community with dance and music as a centerpiece.

Guests can purchase food from food trucks and cocktails from the bar and enjoy the sounds of summer in a beautiful setting right in the middle of the city. Sunday Sessions will take place on the park’s Performance Lawn.

About Afro Funke'

The weekly club, Afro Funke', which celebrated its ten year weekly run in December 2013 with an EPIC "moving on" event that featured over 40 top DJs in Los Angeles who came out to support one of the most ground breaking night clubs of all time. Afro Funke' is now a periodic event with small & large scale happenings across Los Angeles! Afro Funke' was the brainchild of Afro Roots star, Rocky Dawuni, who realized LA's need for a night dedicated to African music, culture and art and it's far reaching legacy around the world. Dawuni, who is based in LA and his native Ghana, together with talent booker and photographer Cary Sullivan created Afro Funke', bringing on board resident DJ and partner DJ Jeremy Sole (KCRW.) DJ Glenn Red was invited to be the second resident DJ and is an integral part of the Afro Funke' Sound.
